B.Ed, DesignerI still have lots to learn about this fascinating game. In a world before home computers, it was difficult to play if your circle did not. Today, the internet makes it possible to play with enthusiasts globally.
I am also very interested in teaching chess to young children and bringing a designer's eye to the site.
Nick Gavriel
M.Eng, Technical ConsultantIt's great to provide technical input to a site with such a great idea. Helping to build a virtual environment where people can experience chess almost as a way of life has been a revelation.
My knowledge of high-performance data systems has been stretched immeasurably through my involvement.
Our Admins & Community Pillars
This site would not be possible without the dedicated volunteers who give up their free time to help and support our members.
A special mention to Ramesh Daryanani, who created our official “Letsplaychess.com” Android app.
Our Roots
ChessWorld.net has its origins in the strong North London Chess Club, Barnet Chess Club.
This gave us access to a number of strong, enthusiastic FIDE-rated players who were very supportive of the site during its inception, including Paul Georghiou (FIDE 2250), Alex Ethelontis (FIDE 2150), and Costas Karayannis (2150).
